OVERVIEW

Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s modern design offers a multitude of sights and experiences that will complete your Walt Disney World vacation. Accommodations vary from standard rooms to two-bedroom suites like the Disney Deluxe Villa with amenities like a kitchen, washer, dryer and private bedrooms. There are 5 transportation services available that take you to any of Walt Disney World’s four parks.

There are a number of contemporary, award winning Americana classic food selections to choose from. Host to a total of 11 dining services, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is bound to win your heart through your stomach.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers a list of activities to keep you entertained during your stay. From fishing, to campfires, to yoga Disney’s Contemporary resort has you covered during your vacation away from vacation. And if you’re unsure where to start, Disney’s Signature Service will help you plan the stay-cation of your dreams.

ROOMS

This 655-room Deluxe Resort on Bay Lake is unique in that its A-frame design permits the Magic Kingdom monorail to pass through the structure’s cavernous atrium. 

The Contemporary has standard rooms and suites. Standard rooms have two queen beds and a day bed or a king-size bed and a day bed. They can accommodate up to five people plus a child under 3 who would use a crib. Suites are available in various configurations and price ranges. There are standard, 1 bedroom suites and 2 bedroom suites which you can select from a suite with view of the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake to a suite with a view of the Gardens. The Contemporary Resort has two sections, The Tower which is 14 stories tall with views of Bay Lake or Magic Kingdom/Parking Lot and The South Garden Wing which is located to the south of the Tower. The Garden rooms have either a water, garden or parking lot view. Disney’s Contemporary Resort also offers Club level accommodations with amenities such as

DINING

California Grill – Californian cuisine celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients and the international, melting-pot culture of the Golden State. Changing seasonally, the menu may include such specialties as handmade Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and Oak-fired Filet of Beef.

Check-in with the My Disney Experience app as you arrive to the 2nd floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. A Cast Member will then escort you up to the 15th floor in an elevator exclusively reserved for California Grill Guests.

• Dress Code

Guests are asked to adhere to the minimum dress code requirements at this Signature Dining experience. Dressier attire is also welcome. Please explore the minimum dress code requirements:

Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Sport coats are optional.

Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition.

Not permitted are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

Reservations in advance are highly recommended.

If reservations are unavailable for the date and time you would like to visit, you may be able to request seating at California Grill Lounge at the check-in podium on the 2nd floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and first-come, first-served seating in the lounge, offering the same menu as the restaurant.

Outer Rim – Admire stunning views of Bay Lake with specialty cocktails before—or after—dinner. Lounge area boasts large cushioned chairs and overhead TVs .A full bar menu is also available.

Chef Mickey’s – Chef Mickey’s offers a breakfast character dining experience with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald Duck and Goofy. Since Disney World’s reopening, Chef Mickey’s has opened back up without the characters and turned its breakfast buffet into an all-you-care-to-eat, family-style meal. Mickey and friends will greet guests from a safe distance, along with all-new breakfast offerings including Mickey’s “Celebration” Pancake.

The Wave…of American Flavors – American Cuisine served in casual elegance. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

• The Wave Lounge 

Lounge area where guests of legal age can enjoy New World wines and craft beers.

Contempo Café – A casual quick service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner offering menu items from a diverse menu of fare, including flatbreads, salads, sandwiches and a tempting array of cupcakes.

The Sand Bar – Enjoy burgers, hot dogs and more poolside! Tropical cocktails, draft beer, sangria and wine as well as a full bar menu. Dessert items are also available.

The Cove Bar – This private poolside bar serves specialty cocktails, beer, wine, wraps and salads for Bay Lake Tower guests and Disney Vacation Club members.

DINING EVENTS

Celebration at the Top – Savor, Sip, and Sparkle – Temporarily Unavailable. This is an all-inclusive dining experience, for $100 per person (before tax and gratuity) you can enjoy a full dinner & dessert buffet as well as the open bar all in the comfort of California Grill’s private Sonoma dining room. It is only offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

Highway in the Sky Dine Around – Temporarily Unavailable. Is a five-course progressive dinner experience that takes guests around the monorail line to the 3 Deluxe Resorts. You will board the Disney’s Monorail at the Contemporary Resort, then on to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with its final stop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa before returning to the Polynesian Resort. You will get to enjoy various types of cuisines at select restaurants on each of your stops.

RECREATION/AMENITIES

Pools at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – There are two pools at the Contemporary Resort and one pool at Bay Lake Tower. You will be able to enjoy private cabanas and a beautiful view of Bay Lake. Cabanas can be reserved by resort guests at an additional cost

Complimentary towels are provided at all pools.

The Game Station – Fun for all ages arcade located on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Tower. 

Basketball – The court at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is open to Resort hotel Guests, with complimentary basketball rental available at the Community Hall. 

Lakeside Yoga – Class space is limited to 15 Guests staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Mats and towels are provided on-site.

Cabana Rentals – Luxury style cabanas with Disney’s signature attention-to-details is another level of pampering. Private dining is also available at an additional cost. Reservations in advance are highly recommended.

Fishing – Guided catch-and-release outings let you experience bass fishing at its finest—all year round! Choose from Guided Bass Fishing Excursions, which includes a 21-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat that can accommodate up to 5 Guests, and a tournament-style NITRO® bass fishing boat for one or 2 people.

Motorized Boat Rentals – Select from your choice of powerboats available for rent at Walt Disney World Resort marinas

Choose from a variety of watercraft:

Sea Raycer by Sea Ray® – seats up to 2 Guests; $32 per half-hour

Reservations are not required as Rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Volleyball –. White-sand courts can be found at 8 locations throughout Walt Disney World. Any Guest of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel may access the volleyball courts, and equipment can be obtained using a valid Resort ID.

Tennis – Complimentary tennis racquets and balls are available at the Community Hall at Bay Lake Tower. Any Guest of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel may access the tennis courts, and equipment can be obtained using your MagicBand or a valid Resort ID.  Group and private lessons are available at the following Disney Resort hotels:

Running Trails – There are available pathways throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Distances are approximate, and maps are available from Lobby Concierges. 

Campfires – Celebrate the great outdoors with complimentary campfire activities at Contemporary Resort’s Bay Lake Tower 

Movies Under the Stars – Complimentary movie screenings are available to Guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

ATM

A 24-hour ATM, presented by Chase, is located in the resort lobby and accept the following cards and services: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover/Novus, Cirrus, Plus, Star and Honor, although they are subject to change.

Be sure to confirm the cash withdrawal limit with your card’s issuing bank. Some ATMs include a maximum transaction limit, above and beyond the cash withdrawal limit associated with your card. In addition, if your card is not issues by Chase you will incur a withdrawal fee, which will be added to the withdrawal amount, is in addition to any fees that may be assessed by the cardholder’s financial institution.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Be sure to visit the front desk or Lobby Concierge if you are interested in exchanging foreign currencies.

CHILD CARE/BABYSITTING 

Kid’s Nite Out is an independent childcare provider, they offer one-to-one babysitting in the comfort of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room. They will organize activities for children 6 months to 12 years of age such as arts and crafts, reading and playing.

LOST CHILDREN 

A child who becomes separated from his or her parents while in the park will be escorted by a Cast Member to the Baby Care Center. Once there, the child will be looked after until the parent comes to claim the child.

If you are unable to locate your child, alert a Cast Member and then check the Baby Care Center

DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS  

At Disney Resort hotels, smoking is permitted in designated outdoor smoking areas. Smoking is not permitted in Guest rooms or on balconies. Guests can request location information upon check-in.

If you have questions about our smoking policy please ask a Disney Cast Member.

Smoking marijuana is not permitted at any time, even in designated smoking areas.

HOUSEKEEPING 

Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo comprehensive cleaning with added attention to high-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles, floors, which are steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests. During your stay, your room will receive light housekeeping service every other day (unless you choose to decline the service). This service will include: Removal of trash and used towels, replenishment of towels and amenities throughout room and bathroom, wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces as well as vacuuming, if needed.

In addition, housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms.

LAUNDRY AND DRYCLEANING SERVICES

You can find 24-hour self-service laundry rooms available near The Big Blue Pool, Flippin’ Fins Pool and Cozy Cone Pool. For dry cleaning and valet laundry service, please select “Housekeeping” on your Guest Room phone.

MAIL SERVICES

If you intend to receive mail during your stay, be sure to have the mail sent to the mailing address of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, make sure to include the word “Guest” and the date of your arrival at the hotel clearly on the package. Postcards, letters and pre-packed, pre-labeled packages with postage already applied can be mailed at the Front Desk or Concierge Desk.

MERCHANDISE DELIVERY AND PICKUP

You will be able to enjoy the parks without extra baggage with this convenient service! You can shop in-store at select Walt Disney World shops and through the Shop Disney Parks mobile app (valid for merchandise in stock at Walt Disney World Resort). Merchandise delivery to your Disney Resort hotel is complimentary.

You can arrange to have your merchandise delivered to Ink & Paint Shop at the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, where it will be available for pickup later.

WIFI

To access complimentary Wi-Fi, simply select the Walt Disney World Resort network from a Wi-Fi enabled device. Then, you’ll be able to browse the Internet, read email, access instant messaging, share memories from your vacation and use the My Disney Experience app to make the most of your visit! TRANSPORTATION

Walt Disney World® Bus Service – Complimentary, air-conditioned bus service throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Almost anywhere you want to go at Walt Disney World Resort is conveniently accessible by Disney Bus, which run continuously.

Some routes may require you to transfer buses. No luggage or alcohol of any type is permitted on Walt Disney World Resort buses. All strollers must be folded and stowed out of the aisle. Medical strollers for Guests with disabilities will be treated as wheelchairs.

Walt Disney World® Water Transportation – Enjoy a leisurely cruise on a charming water launch or stately ferryboat. Water taxis and ferries sail to and from Magic Kingdom park. Most routes run on 15- to 30-minute intervals.

Ferryboats connect Magic Kingdom park to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
