OVERVIEW

Featuring New Orleans’s historic French Quarter where guests will fall in love with the romance and pageantry of New Orleans French Quarter. Complete with cobblestone streets, gas lamps, wrought-iron balconies and fragrant magnolia blossoms, along with colorful Mardi Gras characters and the sounds of jazz. Guests will the stroll along the lushly landscaped Sassagoula River to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, where the bayou beckons, as do Cajun and Creole specialties. 

This moderate resort hotel has 1008 rooms are themed to mimic the eclectic style of the French Quarter, with various styles of shutters and doors and wrought-iron railings.

RECREATION

Pools at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Doubloon Lagoon – Festive decorations, an all-alligator band and a blue sea serpent waterslide immerse you in the magic of New Orleans. Guests will slide down Scales, the 51-foot-long snaking sea serpent slide, whose tongue deposits you into the lagoon with a loud splash. There is also a water play area, a whirlpool spa and the Mardi Grogs pool bar is located nearby.

Please note: Guests must be 48” or under to play at the Doubloon Lagoon Water Play Area.

Ol’ Man Island

This amazing pool complex, just a short walk from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. It is located down the Sassagoula River, this 3.5-acre refuge offers a swimmin’ hole with gushing waterfalls and a 95-foot waterslide with an old mill. A whirlpool spa and kiddie pool are sure to keep the kids happy. There is even a fishin’ hole are also located on the premises.

Movies Under the Stars – Complimentary movie screenings of Disney films are available on select nights between buildings 5 & 6 on the French Quarter green.

Cajun Campfire Activities – Celebrate the great outdoors with complimentary campfire activities.

Surrey Bike Rentals – Enjoy a ride on a covered bicycle built for 2—or 4 person surrey bike from Riverside Levee Marina

Bike Rentals – Ride along the Resort’s scenic waterfront promenade. Both adult bikes and children’s bikes—some with training wheels are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Florida law requires bicyclists under 16 years of age to wear helmets, and Guests must remain within the specific Resort area where the bike has been rented.

Fishing – Experience catch-and-release fishing with an old-fashioned cane pole at the rustic wooded alcove on Ol’ Man Island. Guests can also choose from Guided Bass Fishing Excursions, which includes a 21-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat that can accommodate up to 5 Guests, and a tournament-style NITRO® bass fishing boat for one or 2 people.

Jogging – Run or walk along the landscaped banks of the Sassagoula River on a paved, mile-long path.

Playground at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter– Children can pay at this themed area at the courtyard playground adjacent to Doubloon Lagoon. 

South Quarter Games – Located in The Mint building. To play games, you must first purchase a Game Card and add game points using a credit card or cash at a kiosk inside the arcade. Game Cards are rechargeable and can be used at other Walt Disney World Resort arcades.

Beignet Fun Run – Guests can join in the fun of Sunday Runday set up around Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.

After this 1.5-mile course, guests will receive a finisher’s medallion—along with a tasty beignet!

Painting on de’ Bayou

This Disney-inspired picture in an instructor-led paint class at Sassagoula Floatworks is sure to help you relax. This afternoon class is perfect for artists of all level of painters, even beginners.

This even takes place every Wednesday at Sassagoula Floatworks

Check-in begins at 1:45 PM and the class begins at 2:00 PM

Medicine Show Arcade

A variety of 70+ video games at this huge arcade located just off the main lobby at Port Orleans Riverside.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides – Enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride amidst a lush woodland or along the Sassagoula River.

• This is a 25-minute ride where guests board at the Riverside Levee Marina at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. Carriages fit up to 4 adults (or 2 adults and 3 small children).
• $55.00 per ride
• Holiday Sleigh Rides – 25-minute “sleigh” rides available during the month of December, each sleigh ride costs $84. Carriages fit up to 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 small children.

A 24-hour ATM, presented by Chase are located in the Mint Lobby, beside the front desk and accept the following cards and services: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover/Novus, Cirrus, Plus, Star and Honor, although they are subject to change.

Be sure to confirm the cash withdrawal limit with your card’s issuing bank. Some ATMs include a maximum transaction limit, above and beyond the cash withdrawal limit associated with your card. In addition, if your card is not issued by Chase you will incur a withdrawal fee, which will be added to the withdrawal amount, is in addition to any fees that may be assessed by the cardholder’s financial institution.

CHILD CARE/BABYSITTING

Kid’s Nite Out is an independent childcare provider, they offer one-to-one babysitting in the comfort of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room. They will organize activities for children 6 months to 12 years of age such as arts and crafts, reading and playing.

LOST CHILDREN

A child who becomes separated from his or her parents while in the park will be escorted by a Cast Member to the Baby Care Center. Once there, the child will be looked after until the parent comes to claim the child.

If you are unable to locate your child, alert a Cast Member and then check the Baby Care Center

DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS

At Disney Resort hotels, smoking is permitted in designated outdoor smoking areas. Smoking is not permitted in Guest rooms or on balconies. Guests can request location information upon check-in.

If you have questions about our smoking policy, please ask a Disney Cast Member.

Smoking marijuana is not permitted at any time, even in designated smoking areas.

HOUSEKEEPING

Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo comprehensive cleaning with added attention to high-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles, floors, which are steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests. During your stay, your room will receive light housekeeping service every other day (unless you choose to decline the service). This service will include: Removal of trash and used towels, replenishment of towels and amenities throughout room and bathroom, wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces as well as vacuuming, if needed.

In addition, housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms.

LAUNDRY AND DRYCLEANING SERVICES

You can find a 24-hour self-service laundry room is located near the Doubloon Lagoon pool, behind Mardi Grogs. For dry cleaning and valet laundry service, please select “Housekeeping” on your Guest Room phone.

MAIL SERVICES

If you intend to receive mail during your stay, be sure to have the mail sent to the mailing address of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, make sure to include the word “Guest” and the date of your arrival at the hotel clearly on the package. Postcards, letters and pre-packed, pre-labeled packages with postage already applied can be mailed at the Front Desk. Stamps are available for purchase at Jackson Square Gifts & Desires.

MERCHANDISE DELIVERY AND PICKUP

You will be able to enjoy the parks without extra baggage with this convenient service! You can shop in-store at select Walt Disney World shops and through the Shop Disney Parks mobile app (valid for merchandise in stock at Walt Disney World Resort). Merchandise delivery to your Disney Resort hotel is complimentary.

You can arrange to have your merchandise delivered to Jackson Square Gifts & Desires, where it will be available, where it will be available for pickup later.

WIFI

To access complimentary Wi-Fi, simply select the Walt Disney World Resort network from a Wi-Fi enabled device. Then, you’ll be able to browse the Internet, read email, access instant messaging, share memories from your vacation and use the My Disney Experience app to make the most of your visit! TRANSPORTATION

Disney Water Transportation- Enjoy a leisurely cruise to Disney Springs on a complimentary water taxi. 

Water taxis will transport you to and from Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Water Taxis and Ferries run every 15 to 30 minutes 

Hours of operation will vary based on the water and weather conditions. All strollers must be folded and stowed away at all times. Medical strollers for guests with disabilities will be treated as wheelchairs.

No Alcohol or luggage is permitted at any time.

Walt Disney World® Bus Service – Complimentary, air-conditioned bus service throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Buses also run to Disney Springs and Disney′s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. The bus stop at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is located just in front of the lobby.

 Some routes may require you to transfer buses. No luggage or alcohol of any type is permitted on Walt Disney World Resort buses. All strollers must be folded and stowed out of the aisle. Medical strollers for Guests with disabilities will be treated as wheelchairs. The bus stop at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is located a short walk from the lobby.

Disney’s Magical Express – Complimentary transportation to and from Orlando International Airport. Advance reservations are required.

Please note: Disney’s Magical Express service will no longer be providing luggage delivery for those arriving to and departing from the airport. The resort airline check-in service is also no longer available. The Disney’s Magical Express bus stop is located just in front of the lobby.

Disney’s Magical Express service will no longer be offered starting with arrivals January 1, 2022. The service will continue to operate for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021.

Disney Minnie Van™ Service Connected by Lyft (temporarily unavailable)— The base rate is of $15 per pick-up, plus a per mile fee that varies based upon demand but will typically be around $2.75 to $3.00 per mile.
